So you know how there are those things you really want to do? Those things that are oh so fun...and oh so time-wasting? Yep. I'm doing those tonight. I should be job hunting, because as of July 1, I'm officially screwed. However, I am procrastinating and wondering what to write. I know I would like to finish Stolen Child. I know plenty others who would like to just frakking finish Stolen Child already. On the other hand, I could watch another episode of Xena on my trusty-dusty Netflix. I also see that it is 9:13. So...close...to...bedtime! Well, at any rate, this old hag needs a good back massage, more applesauce, and a broom to pound the ceiling with. (WOOT WOOT! Mr. Heckles!)
What do you do in your old age?
On other subjects, I have been brainstorming ideas with Book of Seas, which seems to be the one desired to be put out next. Does everything really have to have a point? I'm thinking some things should. Not like a moral or anything, but a point. Something big that is behind it all. Perhaps I will discover it as I go along? So this leads me to my next question...when you write, those of you that do, does your story have a point or do you develop said point along the way? I don't care what the point is...for all I care it can be so your Mary-Sue can outshine everyone on the enterprise and shag Picard. (Because we all know that the entire point of a Mary-Sue is to shag the author's favourite character and she will shag them at some point...though I'm not sure that Wesley Crusher ever got any. Does anybody know the answer to that?)
Well, I'm off to the muse. She's pounding on my head and asking where the hell the phone charger is. Adieu all! (*whispers in scary Sokka voice* For now!)

Blisters and bubblegum.
So how many of you walk/run/tredmill/etc? How many of you do this in spurts and pretend you do it all of the time? HA! Okay, that aside, I am on the hunt for a new job. Ugh. I have a job at Old Navy part time and will be trying to get as many hours as possible from them but I need something else. I NEED TO PAY BILLS!!
So I had to do one of those blasted survey things. I hate those. Wow. I was so distracted by this that I didn't realize I need to get my bum into bed. Ugh. Well, more when I am not distracted.

Sushi Farmers
So after a long day at my second job, I am home to a wonderful fiance and sushi! Woot!
Currently, I have been listening to St. Augustine of Hippo's City of God. I find this book very enlightening in the points it makes. However, as far as the points, he tends to step on them by repeating and repeating the same thought over and over, just different ways. I have seen this happen sometimes in literature. Why, I think I am probably guilty of it in some of my own works. Does anybody else have any other literary pet peeves?
In other areas, I hope to high Heaven that I end up like Sophia from the Golden Girls when I am older! What a woman! She's sarcastic and blunt! Wow! I love her. Other than that, no clue!

I want Chinese food...
Mmmm...I could really go for some Chinese food.
Good news! I got a new iPod! I no longer have to go insane!!! *Mini celebration for my iPod!*
Okay, on to business! I suppose there isn't much business. I'm in a rut with Stolen child. For those of you who read on Authonomy and might be reading here, let me know if you think things are going too fast these last few chapters. Or how about just let me know about the pace in general? I think that is part of the problem. I always feel like there should be more in between some things and less of something else and then I'm spinning and I fall to the ground and there are those wontons again... Know the feeling? I think that is about it for today!
Oh! I got some samples for my wedding invitations!! WOOT WOOT!! They're so pretty. Can I have them all and just send out a different invitation to everyone? HAH!

White Noise
So another note while I clear my head at work. This is a note on NOISE. I used to live in this apartment that was super-cute. The interior was of a Tudor-esque design with a faux fireplace and wooden beams. I liked my tiny little apartment very much. When I first moved in, the surrounding trees in the complex made excellent noise-blockers and life was quiet, save for the occasional laughter across the way at late hours on random nights. I'm not sure what happened after my first field season while living in that place. (Field season being when I went to work on projects and was gone for weeks at a time.) Upon my return, things became frequently noisy as well as disturbing. I had never really known my neighbours, nor made much of an attempt to.
One night, the police were at my door. They asked if I knew of anyone in the building who smoked pot. My initial thought was What, do you want some? Mind you, I have never had nor will I ever have even the desire to do any sort of drug, even as harmless as marijuana. At any rate my boyfriend (now my Fiance) and I were baffled and I told him no. He asked if I ever smelled anything weird in the halls to which I replied "I've smelled a lot of weird things in this hall but I wouldn't know the smell of pot if you waved it in my face." He prodded with a few more questions and finally let us be. My boyfriend and I stepped to the kitchen and burst out with laughter. We weren't sure what else to do. What does one do with that? Well we went back to our Chinese food and watching Black Adder when a short while later, there was another knock. It was the policeman again. His partner was with him, looking annoyed and bored. He told me they had heard us laughing and thought it was odd we laugh at the situation. I told him I thought it was odd that a policeman stopped at my door and asked if I knew of anybody in the building that smokes pot. He asked to come in. I let him. I have nothing to hide, why was he bothering me? He pressed a few more prodding questions before turning the conversation to idle chitchat and taking leave.
This should have made me get out of the apartment then and there. I mean, really? What did he hope to accomplish? At any rate, the police sightings at this complex became more frequent to the point where it no longer surprised me and barely so when I came home to the fire truck. The apartment katty corner from mine had caught fire. Finally, this past Christmas, I came home from vacation and found that the neighbour right next to me was "boom-booming" his music 24/7. All hours of the day, all night...all of the time. Constant bass coming through my bedroom wall and vibrating my floors. My landlord would do nothing. Calling the police barely helped. I finally moved out. Since then, my noise tolerance has been ZIP. I cannot stand noisy things. Even the tiniest little background noise. The Boom-Boom man literally stole some of my sanity. Now I am at work and people are constantly talking in the lab. I wish to throw rolled up newspapers. That is all.

Dreamity dream dream dream!
So on the subject of dreams. I think I had one last night. Don't remember. Oh well. I have been thinking about other dreams lately. Dreams that led to my stories. If you read the Stolen Child and the Book of Seas Sections, you can see where I got those ideas. One dream in particular has been sticking in my head. So here it is.
I was running away from people because I had been arranged to marry the Zombie King and I didn't want to. You see, at some point, he had fallen in love with me and I didn't know. So I ran to keep this from happening. When I got to a small town, not too far from my own, there were these 3 F5 tornadoes and they destroyed everything. I figured that the Zombie King would never let up and I should just go to him. At least in his good graces I could try to do some good. So I allowed myself to be taken by his henchmen. They were women from his harem. The one in particular was the head of the harem but my marrying him would change all of that. She had it in for me. She ordered the zombies to kill me instead of taking me back to the Zombie King. So I escaped from her and made my way to the church where he was waiting. The church was filled with zombies waiting to attack on the Harem Lady's orders. So I (was suddenly in a wedding dress and big hunting boots) took up a shotgun and was jumping over pews and shooting zombies with ammo that never seemed to end. I got up there and I married that Zombie King! He didn't look like a zombie though. He looked like Paul Bettany. Yum. At any rate, then I woke up.
So that was my dream. This dream in particular will not become a story, but it will make an appearance in one. I don't know why it was in my head today. Perhaps because Paul Bettany randomly popped in there? (Though he is welcome in my head at any time!)

Crushing Wesley
Okay. I just have to ask...how many of you Star Trek fans (or people who ever watched even one episode) want to destroy Wesley Crusher? Even though I know most people won't respond and I know that it is silly and I know that only a limited amount of people read this, I am going to poll this anyway. What do you think is the best way for Wesley Crusher to die?
On that matter then (the biggest Mary Sue...the Mother of all Mary Sues) I will express my desire to write a fanfic based on my Star Trek Online character, Neri. Neri is a smashingly hot Betazoid captain with a crazy-soap-opera-motivated-mary-sue-loving crew. :) I created a whole story for these characters as I created them in game. If there is any curiosity into this story, let me know and I mary...I mean MAY just post some of it. How enticing are Mary Sues, right? I know at least one of you who will like this.
Moving on. It is said that all writing has a bit of self-insertionism. Do you think this is true? I can certainly see it in my work. Fortunately, I don't see it in just one character per story, so I kid myself that not one of my characters is a Mary Sue. (They all are.) Kidding aside, I see various aspects of myself in multiple characters I have written. I would love to hear about anyone else's view on this. Do you insert yourself a little into your stories? Be honest. If you could jump into one of your stories...would you?
